How Does Counselling Help?
Counselling is an opportunity to explore difficulties that you are experiencing and can lead to greater self-awareness, insight, and new or different ways of coping. Counselling may require that you be open to exploring difficult topics, new perspectives, and new or different ways of doing things.
Clients may experience a variety of benefits including:
Improved communication skills
Stress reduction and/or improved stress management skills
Adjusting to life changes
Improved self-esteem
Feeling empowered
Healing from abuse or trauma
How Long Does Counselling Last?
The number of sessions varies between clients and can typically be reduced through active participation both in session and outside of session.
Is Counselling Confidential?
My services are strictly confidential. Any information shared will not be released to another person without your written consent. There are three exceptions to confidentiality, when I am legally and/or ethically obligated to release information:
1. I believe there is danger to you or someone else.
2. I believe that a child or dependent adult is being abused.
3. My records or testimony are court ordered for legal proceedings.
What are the Fees?
60 minute session - $200
90 minute session - $300
Late cancellations/No shows - $100
Payment is due at the end of a session and a receipt is issued at this time. Accepted payments include cash, Visa, MasterCard, debit.
Most insurance companies and extended health care plans will cover a portion or all of the services provided by a Registered Psychologist. It is up to the client to check with their provider to determine eligibility. I will attempt to do direct billing.
